Rewayat Hafs A'n Assem - Murattal

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتۡ ۝١

When the sky breaks apart.

وَإِذَا ٱلۡكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتۡ ۝٢

and when the stars fall, scattered,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتۡ ۝٣

and when the seas burst forth,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡقُبُورُ بُعۡثِرَتۡ ۝٤

and when the graves are overturned,

عَلِمَتۡ نَفۡسࣱ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ وَأَخَّرَتۡ ۝٥

then each soul will come to know what it has done or what it has left undone.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡكَرِيمِ ۝٦

O mankind, what has lured you away from your Lord, the Most Generous,

ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ ۝٧

Who created you, then shaped and proportioned you,

فِيٓ أَيِّ صُورَةࣲ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ ۝٨

and assembled you in whatever form He willed?

كَلَّا بَلۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ ۝٩

No indeed; but you deny the Judgment Day,

وَإِنَّ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَحَٰفِظِينَ ۝١٠

while there are watchers[1] over you,

[1] i.e., angels who preserve all your deeds.

كِرَامࣰا كَٰتِبِينَ ۝١١

honorable scribes,

يَعۡلَمُونَ مَا تَفۡعَلُونَ ۝١٢

who know whatever you do.

إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمࣲ ۝١٣

Indeed, the righteous will be in Bliss,

وَإِنَّ ٱلۡفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمࣲ ۝١٤

and the wicked will be in Blazing Fire,

يَصۡلَوۡنَهَا يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ ۝١٥

which they will enter on Judgment Day,

وَمَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ ۝١٦

and will never come out of it.

وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ ۝١٧

How do you know what Judgment Day is?

ثُمَّ مَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ ۝١٨

Again, how do you know what Judgment Day is?

يَوۡمَ لَا تَمۡلِكُ نَفۡسࣱ لِّنَفۡسࣲ شَيۡـࣰٔاۖ وَٱلۡأَمۡرُ يَوۡمَئِذࣲ لِّلَّهِ ۝١٩

It is the Day when no soul will be of any help to another, and all command on that Day will be with Allah.
